The Harvey Project | Modern Warmth in the Mile High City
Some homes unfold gently.
They don’t overwhelm you with trend or spectacle. Instead, they invite you in slowly — through proportion, material and light. That was the spirit behind The Harvey Project, a full home furnishings project we’ve had the privilege of shaping over the past year.
From the beginning, the goal was clear: create a home that feels architectural yet approachable. Refined, yet deeply livable. A space designed not just to impress, but to hold daily life with ease.
Let’s step inside…
TOUR THE HARVEY PROJECT’S ENTRYWAY, KITCHEN, DINING ROOM, HOME OFFICE, AND PRIMARY SUITE — ALL FURNISHED BY BASIL & TATE INTERIOR DESIGN STUDIO.
The Entryway | A Welcome Defined by Quiet Intention
As you enter the home, the experience begins with restraint.
A sculptural console anchors the entry, layered with organic textures and soft abstract art. Nothing competes for attention. Instead, the materials — wide plank oak floors, natural light, and subtle contrast — guide you forward.
This entry moment was designed to feel intentional but unforced. It sets the tone for the entire home: composed, grounded, and quietly confident.
Kitchen & Dining | Where Form Meets Function
The kitchen offered a beautiful architectural starting point — light cabinetry, a classic herringbone backsplash, and tailored brass detailing throughout.
Rather than reinvent what already worked, we focused on layering warmth and livability into the foundation. Woven counterstools introduce texture and craftsmanship. Curated styling softens the clean lines, adding rhythm without clutter.
Above the island, sculptural lighting provides both scale and presence, anchoring the room visually and creating a natural gathering point.
This kitchen is not overly styled. It is thoughtfully layered — designed for everyday meals, casual conversation, and meaningful hosting.
Drama with Depth
Moving into the dining room, the mood shifts slightly — more dramatic, more grounded.
A custom focal wall designed by our team introduces architectural presence, centered by an oversized equine art piece that brings both movement and scale. Floating shelves layered with collected artwork add dimension, transforming the room into something personal and refined.
The intention here was connection. The space was designed to support long dinners, layered conversation, and the kind of hosting that feels relaxed rather than orchestrated.
The Primary Suite | A Restorative Retreat
The primary suite serves as a retreat from the pace of the day.
A custom board and batten wall designed by Basil and Tate introduces subtle architectural interest — tailored, but not ornate. It provides a structured backdrop for layered artwork and tonal bedding.
Soft neutrals, muted greens, and thoughtful textiles bring depth while maintaining calm. Every material was selected to feel enduring rather than fleeting.
Just beyond, a quiet sitting area offers a gentle transition. Wrapped in soft floral wallpaper and grounded with warm wood shelving and collected accents, it becomes a space for slow mornings and evening unwinding — a reminder that rest is part of thoughtful living.
In the bath, simplicity leads. Natural elements and restrained accessories reinforce the overall balance of the home. Nothing feels overworked. Everything feels intentional.
The Home Office | Focused & Grounded
In contrast to the lighter tones throughout the main living spaces, the home office introduces a richer, more dramatic mood.
Deep paneled walls create depth and structure. Warm wood furnishings and tailored upholstery bring balance and approachability. A substantial desk anchors the room — confident, but not imposing.
Layered artwork and thoughtfully styled built-ins add dimension without distraction. The result is a workspace that feels both focused and welcoming — designed to support productivity while remaining connected to the home’s overall warmth.
The Guest Suite | Warmth with Intention
The guest bedroom continues the layered, welcoming aesthetic established throughout the home.
Soft bedding and relaxed neutrals introduce comfort and texture. Curated artwork and warm brass lighting provide a refined touch.
The goal was simple: ensure guests feel cared for. The space feels easy, calm, and ready to host — beautiful without feeling formal.
Designed for Modern Warmth
The Harvey Project is not defined by a single feature or statement piece. It is defined by cohesion.
Every architectural decision, finish, and furnishing was considered in relation to the whole. The result is a home that feels balanced — modern but timeless, elevated yet deeply livable.
This is what we mean when we talk about bringing goodness home. If you’re ready to create a space that reflects how you truly live — thoughtfully, intentionally, and without excess — we’d love to connect.
