Six Fix

I get a lot of inquiries from potential clients wondering if I can help them with a space that they have started but they need some help finishing up.  I typically don’t take on these types of jobs because I’ve been able to keep busy enough with complete room designs (and those are my fave - I’ll be honest).  However, I had a couple of friends ask me for this kind of help and I couldn’t turn them down. I realized that sometimes the room just needs a fresh perspective.  So, I have created a new series I am calling ‘Six Fix’ - I will make six suggestions as to what I think would be the six best ways to spruce up your space.

The Georgelos Project - Family Room Reveal

I am super excited to finally show you one of my favorite spaces to date! The Georgelos living room underwent a major facelift this summer to modernize and brighten the space. This was one of my favorite kind of projects… ya know… the kind where I get to pick out everything! The Georgelos fam moved into this house a few years ago, renovated the heck out of it, and now they’re ready for their furnishings to match their beautiful renovations. The living room topped the to-do list, so we tackled it first. They had some really nice pieces from their last house, but as the story always goes… they just didn’t work well in this house.

The Blair Project - Baby Girl Nursery

Well, I don't know if being a designer gets much more fun than decorating a nursery for a baby girl!  I was so pumped when my previous clients reached out to put them on the calendar to complete their baby's nursery.  A couple months later they found out they were having a girl, and that kicked the whole project up another notch.  So. Much. Cute. Girl. Stuff.  This couple had *the* perfect room for a nursery, too - a tiny room in an old house with SO much character - the chunky woodwork, a slanted ceiling, quirky angles... it was awesome!

The Leiser Project - Master Bedroom Reveal

The inspiration for this room came from the bedding that my client already had already picked out.  She knew that she loved it, but she was stuck with what to do with the rest of the room.  Our next task was to find furniture to not only compliment the headboard but also tie in the rest of her home that had more of a rustic feel to it.

The Leiser Project - Formal Living and Dining Rooms Reveal

I *HATE* being in front of the camera, but I’m stretching myself - going FAAAAAR beyond my comfort zone to try a little something new.  So… feel free to laugh at this video. That was the only way I got through it. That and a few curse words every time I had to re-film a scene… which was more times than I’ll ever admit.  I’m not a natural. That is my disclaimer. Watch at your own risk.

Master Bathroom Design Boards

A couple weeks ago I shared with you the plans for the master bedroom over at the Nyberg Project. Purchases have been made and I’m pretty sure it’s like Christmas at their front door every day. So jealous! I can’t wait to get up there and see it all myself. Part of the reason I started this whole Basil + Tate gig is because I can’t do it all in my own house. This is even better though because I get darn near the same satisfaction decorating my clients’ homes as I do my own… or maybe even more because I get to spend their money instead of ours! Ha!
